I WENT FOR HER, BUT I GOT CAUGHT.... (part 1)
This is a fictional story I came up with and I hope at the end of it, there will be a thing that you will hold onto as you develop yourself. Enjoy it.....
If there is ever a way I could turn back the hands of time to make things right, then I will. I will quickly opt for the right thing. The unfortunate thing is that I have lost a lot due to some foolish act that I got myself into while I was in secondary school.
You see, I grew up in a house where discipline is held high. So, that automatically made my siblings and I always seek to do the right thing at all time, and at all cause. However, some things have a way of turning those very morals into something else. Well, this was how it all began.
I was then in junior secondary school two, in federal government college Jos. I was fourteen then, so you could just image the innocence I was adorn with at this stage. I was just a simple student, doing the very thing every student is expected to do. I studied my books, did my domestic work, had some time for sports, religious activities and the basic things that a student was expected to do.
I never did have any problem with any of my teachers nor with any of my seniors in the hostel. You could regard me as “that gentle as a dove” student, loved by all my seniors, cherished by my mates and well respected by my juniors. Thought I wasn’t the best in my class, but I was amongst the first five best students in the class so you could just say am that good student.
Everything at this point was moving well, until a surprising strange thing happened. I new girl was brought to the class. She was transferred from federal government college Langtang. Her very first day in class, was as if all the boys in class were bewitch by her beauty. Every boy wanted talking with her. Somehow, I was the only one that didn’t show much interest in her as such, I was calm and did behave in my usual manner. But truth be told, this lady is beautiful and based on my observations, she seemed calm, and cool to be with, but I never wanted joining the crowd she was attracting to herself.
About a week after, while setting in the canteen during a short break, I felt a tap on my shoulder from behind. As I turn to see who it was, behold it was the new girl, my class “miss world” and I immediately began feeling “butterflies in my stomach”. She smiles at me and I quickly returned it with so much joy. I asked her to sit, and with no form of hesitation, she sat down. We got talking and she introduced herself as Elizabeth Are. We spoke for awhile, and then went to class together when the break was over.
From our first encounter, so many things changed, as Elisabeth and I got closer. I must confess, I was at this point in love with her. Truth be told, Elisabeth is an enigma of beauty, she is tall, light skin, intelligent, she has humor unimaginable. In simply terms, I could equate her to the miss world 2005, Miss Riyanka Chopro. So many boys, including my seniors wanted having her as a girlfriend. I was already in a competition I had never thought of.
Fast forward the story, it was time for the end of term examination. Every student was studying hard to see to it that they successfully go through the examination and come out well. Because of my performance in class, some of my classmates, required that I help explain and teach them some subjects that were proving to be difficult for them to understand, and I did. Elizabeth and I studied together most at times, as I put her through areas she was finding difficulties in them. Everything was moving on well, until the day we wrote our last paper, which was integrated science.
